Boao Forum to focus on globalization and free trade

The annual Boao Forum for Asia 2019 will focus on safeguarding globalization and free trade amid mounting downward global economic pressure, instability and uncertainties, Li Baodong, secretary-general of the forum said on Wednesday in Beijing.
Li announced that the forum's meeting, under the theme of a "Shared Future, Concerted Action, Common Development" is scheduled to be held from March 26-29 in Boao, Hainan province. The opening plenum will take place on March 28.
In his speech, Li said the global economy in 2018 saw "moderate growth, but with slower momentum" as protectionism and unilateralism are posing real and serious challenges. He stressed that an approach involving multilateralism and cooperation must be respected to cope with a backlash, in some countries, to globalization and its threats to the world economy.
"It is in this global context that the BFA has opted for ‘Shared Future, Concerted Action, Common Development' as the theme of its 2019 annual conference. A shared future calls for concerted actions, whereas concerted actions lead to common development," Li said, adding that the conference will provide an open, inclusive dialogue platform for stakeholders and send a clear message to build a consensus regarding rising global challenges.
Qionghai: the strategy of "Three places, Two zones and One center"

On January 21, the seventh plenary session of the 13th Committee of Qionghai was held.The session developed the strategy of "Three places, Two zones and One center", building a new high ground of international health care industry, international tourism exhibition destination, international public diplomacy base, rural revitalization demonstration zone, ecological civilization pilot zone, international economic and cultural cooperation communication center.
He Qiongmei, Secretary of the CPC Qionghai Municipal Committee indicated that the development of Qionghai in 2019 needed to focus on the strategy of "Three places, Two zones and One center",to highlight the center role of Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, to build a new high ground of international health care industry, to continue the deepening of reform and improve living standards of the people.
